Frequently Asked Questions
General
-
No, you can self-refer. In rare cases, some insurance plans do require a doctor’s note to see a physiotherapist so please check with your individual provider.
-
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in.
-
An internal exam (vaginal and/or rectal- depending on your sex and symptoms) is often part of the physical examination. However, if you are not comfortable with this part of the exam it is not necessary and we can proceed with our assessment and treatment plan without that part. Children do not undergo internal exams.

48 hours notice is required for cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. Providing less than 48 hours will result in a fee of 50% of the cost of your appointment. Simply not showing up to your scheduled appointment will result in a fee of 100% of the cost of your appointment. Providing limited or no notice takes away an appointment time that another client was in need of and lengthens the wait time for others to access pelvic physiotherapy, as such, this policy is strictly enforced and emergencies will be considered on a case by case basis.
-
Still come to your appointment. You can choose to skip any internal assessment or treatment that day or to carry on with your treatment plan as usual.
Billing
-
Debit and Credit. Card cards accepted: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.
-
No. Currently, payment is accepted via credit or debit and the receipt provided can then be submitted to your insurance company.
-
No. If you have an extended healthcare plan that has physiotherapy coverage you can submit your receipt to them, however we are not registered with MVA, WSIB, or OHIP.
-
This is to ensure that you are committed to your appointment. If you do not abide by the cancellation policy this card will be charged accordingly. When paying for your appointment you can use the card on file or choose to use another credit card, or debit card. When you enter your credit card information into your account, Jane (the online booking platform) creates and keeps a token that can be used to reference that information. But the actual sensitive information is sent to and stored within our payment partner Stripe, which holds the highest security certification in the industry.

You first appointment, an initial assessment, is 1 hour and costs $160. Follow-up appointments are 30min at the cost of $95. Should you want a longer follow-up (for multiple concerns) these appointments are 45min at the cost of $120. If you have extended health insurance some or all of these fees may be covered under “physiotherapy”.
